EDUCATION @ FOR THE TIME BEING
We will be running a series of workshops that will be co-ordinated by Rebecca Starkiss, Jack Cornell, Sophie Payne and Karl Koch, all of whom have worked within schools or within extracurricular classes and organisations. Paramount to the relation of the workshops to the gallery space will be children’s exposure to observational tasks and drawing exercises with the exhibition, encouraging them to think about the different ways the artwork has been installed. To respond to the work; engaging with an active involvement in the conceptual foundations of how the viewer, gallery, object triangulated system operates. The aim of our programme at For The Time Being will be to encourage the children to respond to the environment around them through the second set of workshops; engaging with the gallery space to then consider the city of London and furthermore what a 'city' actually is by considering and constructing what they view to be the perfect city. The children will then be given the opportunity to place themselves within this idyll, via the use of green screen technology to explore their own perfect cities first hand.
